Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe and transfer to Kasese through Fort portal. Overnight at Hotel Margherita.
Day 2: Travel to Nyakalengija. Start trekking to Nyabitaba hut.2650m. The trek is through coffee plantations and crossing the Mahoma River travelling through forest to the Nyabitataba hut set on forested ridge with a view of portal peaks and Bujuku Valley.
Day 3: Travel to John Matte Hut7 hours walk 3550m our trail descends through forest to cross to Bujuku River at Kurt Shaffer Bridge and through a Giant Heath and Grounsel forest you will stop at Nyamileju hut”Place of Beards” name that reffers to the moss and lichen hanging from the trees. We carry on to John matte which is close to the river in a grove of Giant heather.
Day 4: Travel to Lake Bujuku Hut.3900m. WE travel through the two Bigo Bogs to Bigo Hutcrossing Kibatisi Bog to cooking pot cave and on to
The beautiful set of Lake Bujuku (where Jesus learnt how to walk on the water) Here you should be able to have a wonderful view of mounts Stanley> Speke and Baker and the incredible ice cave on Mount speke should be clearly visible. You may now chose to ascend to mount speke.
Day 5: Travel to Elena Hut.4541m. Travelling through groundsel gully and via scott eliot pass (highsest point of loop trail 4372m) we ascend
To Elena Hut.
Day 6: We climb to Margherita peak 5109m. Summit of the highest mountain in Africa and descend to Kitandara hut.
Day 7: We travel to Guy yeoman 3450m. 5 hours walk. We will make a steep ascent to the fresh field pass 4282m and then descend to Bujonglo
Cave. 3720m the base used for Duke of Abruzzi’s 1906 expedition. We will pass the kabamba cave 3450m the waterfall and rock shelter staying overnight at Guy yeoman hut set in giant heather zone.
Day 8: Descend from Guy yeoma to Nyakalengija to Kibale forest.Steep descent through the Bamboo Zone via Lake Mahoma to the trail head at Nyakalengija –pick up and drive to Bwindi-via Ishasha sector, famous for climbing lions, game viewing on the way Bwindi overnight Ride for a woman (BLD)
Bwindi National Park: Pre-dating the last ice age, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is one of the richest ecosystems on the planet, and the diversity of species among the highest in Africa with some 120 mammal and 350 species of bird documented within its boundaries. It is also the only forest in the world to support both Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzee.
Day 9: Gorilla Tracking: Trek deep into the steaming Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for one of the great wildlife encounters, an hour in the company of the highly endangered Mountain Gorillas. Tracking takes between three and eight hours but every second is a life defining experience. (BLD)
Day 10: Nature wal or biking
This morning after breakfast, we go for biking in Bwindi-Buhooma trails for 3 hours, we later return to the lodges-Overnight Rider for a woman
Day 11: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park, to break the long journey shorter, where you will have and evening game drive-Overnight Eagles Nest BLD
Day 12: We have a game drive and drive to Entebbe Airport for Departure (about 6 hours drive)
