The Kibira National Park is on of the most important attractions in the country. The Kibira is a rainforest containing a variety of fauna and flora. A small group of chimps can be observed in the park. The park is famous for its medicinal plants. Historically, the park was considered as a hunting domain for the kings of Burundi.
Beside the park, other attractions include a power dam, hotsprings, an artificial lake and beautiful landscapes of tea plantations. It is possible to organise hiking and trekking in and out of the park.
