DETAILED ITINERARY

Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara

Early in the morning you will depart from Nairobi for Maasai Mara Reserve arriving in time for lunch at your camp/Lodge.

Afternoon game drive.

The Maasai Mara is regarded as the jewel of Kenya’s wildlife viewing areas. There have been some 95 species of mammals, amphibians and reptiles and over 400 bird’s species recorded on the reserve. Nowhere in Africa is wildlife more abundant, and it is for this reason a visitor hardly misses to see the big five (buffalo, elephant, leopard, lion, and rhino).

Day 2 & 3: Full day Maasai MaraOn this two days, after having a delicious breakfast, you will spend a Full day exploring the park in search of the Big five. There will be an option of having packed lunch.

 Optional Activities (at an extra cost): Bush Breakfast, Bush Dinner, Balloon Safari, Maasai village visits

The Maasai Mara Game Reserve is arguably Kenya’s most popular game sanctuary. It is the most famous and most visited game reserve in Kenya. The film ‘Out of Africa’ was made to a great extent in this reserve. Virtually every type of wildlife can be seen at the Mara.

 Day 4: Maasai Mara Game Reserve – Naivasha

This would be your last day in the reserve. After an early breakfast you will enjoy an enroute game drive as you leave the Mara and make your way to Naivasha.

Day 5: Full day in Naivasha

Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake and it is part of the Great Rift Valley. The name is derived from the local Maasai name Nai’posha, meaning “rough water” because of the sudden storms which can arise.

Lake Naivasha is a bird watcher’s paradise. African buffalo, zebra, eland, hartebeest, Thomson’s gazelle, and baboons are also common. The park is also home to klipspringer antelope and Chanler’s mountain reedbuck.

While in Naivasha you can visit hells gate national park a remarkable quarter of the Great Rift Valley. Spectacular scenery including the towering cliffs, water-gouged gorges, stark rock towers, scrub clad volcanoes and belching plumes of geothermal steam make it one of the most atmospheric Parks in Africa.

Day 6: Naivasha – Amboseli National Park

This morning we depart Via Nairobi by road through the scenic Athi Plains and into the bush country of Amboseli National Park, home to the legendary Maasai tribesmen and famous for huge herds of Elephant.

After lunch an afternoon ‘Spice’ game run is planned. In addition to Elephant, Antelope, Zebra, Wildebeest, Buffalo and the elusive Leopard, nearly every vista within the Park is framed by majestic Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance.

 Day 7: Full day Amboseli

Full day game drive- this option would be departing after breakfast at 8:30am (with an option of a packed lunch) and return to the lodge in the evening.

Optional visit to a Maasai village can be arranged after breakfast at an extra small fee.

Masai warriors are famously known as the proud nomadic tribe whose legendary prowess in battle and single-handed acts of bravery in fights with the wild animals are known across the world.

A visit reveals the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals

 Day 8 & 9: Amboseli National Park – Tsavo East National Park

After breakfast in the morning we depart for Tsavo East for the next two days. Arrive for Lunch at the Lodge. After check-in and lunch, an afternoon ‘Spice’ game drive in this vast Park is planned. The Park comprises a diversity of habitats, open plains alternating with savannah bush and semi-desert scrub; acacia woodlands; rocky ridges and outcrops. The Park virtually guarantees enormous herds and excellent game viewing including Cheetah, Lion, Leopard and Hyena and a herd of over 3,500 Elephants

Day 10: Tsavo East National Park – Diani coast

 Early breakfast at the Lodge. Depart for Mombasa. You will have free time relaxing and rejuvenating along the sandy tropical beaches of the Indian Ocean.

 Day 11 & 12Full time in Diani Coast

Here you will experience a different kind of Kenya; escape to the sparkling white sandy beaches, palm fringed skies and shimmering turquoise seas of Mombasa’s tropical shores. You will enjoy the welcoming smiles from the local people, fresh seafood cuisine, and fascinating cultural influences from Arab, Swahili, British and Portuguese history. Spend the sun-kissed day on the pristine shore of Mombasa beach exploring the vibrant tropical coast.

 Optional: You can take part in a variety of activities from water sports to sailing boats and more. Discover the secrets of the sea by enrolling in a diving program.

 Day 13: Departure

This marks the last day of your pleasant safari.  You will be transferred to Ukunda airstrip for your one-way flight to Nairobi airport where you will connect with an onward flight home.
